Sneak Peak: MY NEW BOM

I've been very busy stitching. Trying hard to get my next block of the month finished.
I have a sneak peak photo for you, it's a mix of hand piecing and applique.
Lots of pretty flower baskets!

We have limited places in this one, so we thought we'd do early sign ups for all you eager BOMers out there!
E-mail Lucy at and let her know you don't want to miss out!

That photo was taken from my Instagram feed. Do you use Instagram? It's a great way to keep up to date with what people are up to... like a blog, in photos. My screen name is ' jenkingwell '. I post the projects I am working quite often, and also shots from my life in the Middle East.

Our Stash Club is still happened. The Feb mail out went out last week and it was a beautiful mix including some Salt Water by Tula Pink, so lovely Japanese ones and everything in between!

There's 1 m of fabric in total for each Stash Club mail out. It's 16, Fat 16ths and is a mix of new fabrics to Amitie Textiles.
$25 per mail out for Australian customers, $28 AUD for international customers. These prices includes postage and handling.
To sign up, e-mail

Hello, I would like more information on this BOM. I have emailed, but have not heard back. Probably getting caught by the mighty "Spam Master". Thanks so much

Looks great! I wish there was a pattern option for BOMs (including past ones) for those of us who would maybe prefer a pdf option.

Hi Jen,
I recently finished the first two blocks for this BOM. Love the fabrics and I'm so excited to see all the patterns you come up with for this one.

....I'm looking for tips for good hand sewing techniques. My pieces do not look well connected. I can really see space if I pull them apart the least bit. Was wondering if you had posted on this in the past or knew of a good source.

My first blocks were posted here

Delilah - Lucy's Journey - Part 1

A fair while ago, when working through the Delilah patterns I thought "yeah... I might just make this".
After a quick brain storm with the Boss Lady/Mum, I decided why not! But it has to be different, we thought because we have no use for 2 quilts that look very similar. So, what could I do? That's when my eyes landed on my always growing stash of Liberty.
March arrived and so did our stock of templates, and off I went...
My, my, my Delilah.

You have brought me to a few firsts so I think some confessions need to me made.

1. I have never pieced a curve.

Nope...  No sir! Not one.
Curves have always scared me. I could never wrap my head around them but the Boss Lady...

She loves them!

I mean... she really LOVES them!

Or maybe she just loves cruel and unusual punishment like this block?!
Just an idea.

Curves conquered.
But wait, there's more (confessions and curves!)

2.  I don't* own an iron.

Ha. Yup!
I managed to get to a few days shy of 30 years old without…

Delilah - Lucy's Journey - Part 3

Hello friends,
Half way into this quilt and with every stitch I fall more and more in love. With each block completed, I drag all my blocks out again and lay them out. I posted this image recently on Instagram (@lucycarsonkingwell) of my 'Design Floor' to gauge where it's all heading and it's looking okay!!

Delilah has been a test - I have learnt many new skills and it is definitely the most technical quilt I have taken on to date... but it's not hard! The templates are fantastic. I swear working with acrylic templates makes it quite challenging to go back to temp-plastic! These templates are ensuring my blocks come out correct, every time.
Month 5 brought us North Star. "Woo hoo. Straight lines!" I hear the masses cheer as they open their mail!
I knew it was time to start focusing on other colours other than pink and aqua. I tend to gravitate towards these two colours because they seem to go with everything to me... especially in the Liberty of London f…

A little eye candy

A very lovely, Susan, e-mailed us her version of JKD Green Tea and Sweet Beans.

We love it!
She made it at a shop in USA called Sewing Party. Amazing!
